  • All prices are in CAD dollars.
  • The membership term runs 01 April to 31 March of the following year. After 01 May, pro-rated fees are available to new members only.
  • For members joining from January to March, your membership fee will include the current and upcoming year as follows:
    • Full fee for existing members
    • Prorated fee for new members and for existing members whose membership has been inactive for more than 24 months

About Full Member (registered)
Expiry: March 31, 2022

Registered psychologist and a member in good standing with the College of Alberta Psychologists (CAP).

About Early Career Psychologists (ECP)
Expiry: March 31, 2022

Open to individuals registered and in good standing with the College of Alberta Psychologists as a full members but who have been eligible for full membership status for less than 5 years. ECP members are eligible to join the PAA Referral Service.

About Provisional Psychologist (non-voting)
Expiry: March 31, 2022

Is open to an individual who, at the time of application is Registered and in good standing with the College of Alberta Psychologists as a Provisional Psychologist; or is in the process of applying to the College of Alberta Psychologists for registration as a Provisional Psychologist and provides the Association with his/her proof of registration as a Provisional Psychologist with the College of Alberta Psychologists within ninety days of being accepted as a member of the Association.

About Out of Province Psychologist
Expiry: March 31, 2022

Registered psychologist and a member in good standing with the College of Alberta Psychologists (CAP), living outside of Alberta.

About Student Membership (non-voting)
Expiry: March 31, 2022

Is open to an individual who upon application:

  1. is registered as a student in an undergraduate or graduate psychological program at a recognized university, college, or other institution of post-secondary education; and
  2. is of good character and reputation; and
  3. pays the prescribed dues

About Professional Affiliate Membership (non-voting)
Expiry: March 31, 2022

Is open to an individual who:

  1. is a professional with an interest in psychology (such professionals may include, but are not limited to, social workers, school counsellors, mental health therapists, medical professionals, and clergy); and
  2. is of good character and reputation, and
  3. pays the prescribed dues.

About Psychological Assistant Affiliate Membership (non-voting)
Expiry: March 31, 2022

Is open to an individual who at the time of application:

  1. practices within the scope of practice of psychology (as defined in Schedule 22 of the Health Professions Act);
  2. practices under the supervision of a registered psychologist;
  3. holds a Bachelor's Degree;
  4. is of good character and reputation;
  5. subscribes to and supports the objectives of the Psychologists' Association of Alberta, Canadian Code of Ethics for Psychologists (Revised 2000), Standards of Practice, and Practice Guidelines for Providers for Psychological Services; and
  6. pays the prescribed dues.

About Referral Service Membership
Expiry: March 31, 2022

The PAA Referral Service is designed to provide the public with access to the names of registered psychologists who are participating members of the referral service.
